TMS-200 and TMS-210 I2C Bus Host Adapters

Description

The TMS-200 and TMS-210 are I2C Host Adapters that allow your PC, Workstation, or other RS-232 equiped computing device to act as an I2C bus master. Using these devices will allow you to send messages to I2C compatable slave devices. Read and write commands can be sent to the target device using a simple ASCII protocol. Other commands control special formatting features for controlling output from the device. For more information, please download and review the user's manual.

Features

Common Features of the TMS-200 and TMS-210:

    • Both work with common bus voltages (3.3Vdc to 5.0Vdc).
    • Both support all I2C slave devices that use the 7-bit address modes.
    • Both use the same simple, easy to remember ASCII command protocol.
    • Both work with most (if not all) computing systems so long as they have an RS-232 interface. Including: PCs, Workstations, Terminals, PDAs, etc.
    • Develope your own custom software applications.

Differences between the TMS-200 and TMS-210:

    • Bus clocking speed: TMS-200 clocks the bus at 40Kbps and the TMS-210 clocks the bus at 100Kbps.
    • Power source: TMS-200 draws power from the computer's RS-232 port. The TMS-210 must be connected to an external power source, such as the target system.
